Where Europe Meets Africa

A 7000 km Road Trip from the Netherlands to Morocco

Hello Reader,

I’m finally back after half a year of hibernation, and this time with an epic 7000 km road trip from the Netherlands to Morocco! From the vineyards of Saint-Émilion and Bordeaux to the sunlit streets of Seville, the blue alleys of Chefchaouen, the coastal cities of northern Morocco, the dramatic Rock of Gibraltar, and the sacred sanctuaries of Lourdes and Rocamadour, this journey became one of the most unforgettable adventures we’ve ever experienced.

But the road had its fair share of chaos too: a massive blackout in southern Spain, getting locked out of our accommodation at midnight in Seville, a six-hour ferry delay at Algeciras, a last-minute apartment cancellation in Morocco, and an outrageously expensive taxi ride in Gibraltar!

Yet between all the mishaps came incredible moments: golden sunsets over Plaza de España, wandering through Morocco’s blue streets, watching the Atlantic meet the Mediterranean, and joining candlelight processions beneath the cliffs of Lourdes and Rocamadour. The following set of articles is a complete day-by-day account of that unforgettable Europe-to-Africa adventure, packed with itineraries, practical tips, real travel experiences, and lessons learnt on the road.

So, enjoy them. And until we meet next time, I wish you merry traveling and happy shooting!
